Project Decisions with Disciplined Agile Masterclass

How is this workshop meaningful for someone who wants to learn how more about DA? We have a mechanism to build your own case study that is not only useful but practical and to have a starting point on how to choose your way of working. The power of using the DA tool kit is the ability to evaluate the different types of lifecycles. Moving away from a mode of the cookie-cutter recipe and allowing the team to pick the right approach that suits their own needs, learning how to do this in the simulation with this workshop.

Joshua and Aldo have years of experience helping individuals and organizations adopt DA since it was first released back in 2013. They are excited about how they can bring DA to those who may or may not have an awareness of DA and would like to know more about it. They may not be ready to make the investment from a time or financial perspective with a DA certification. This workshop is a small investment of time to learn how to use Disciplined Agile and would be the workshop for them to attend!

The Future of PM Certification Through the Eyes of the Past

When the PMP was unveiled in October of 1984, no one could have predicted the impact that initial project management certification would have on our profession. Since that day, when 55 project managers took the first exam in Philadelphia, the number of PMPs is just shy of 1.3 million and when you add all of the PMI certifications that the PMP has spawned the total number of PM certification exceeds 1.5 million with significant increases almost every month. This presentation will examine the history and what was responsible for the PMP success. The future of PM Certifications will be considered and recommendations for obtaining value add certifications as a way to grow your career. Lee Lambert has been with the certification process from the very first day and he continues to be a primary reference as the future of project management appears to be extremely good, with as many as 20 million qualified PMs will be needed by 2025. Let Lee show you what your should be considering for your future.

Fueling With Failure

Learning from failure is our last best opportunity to drive value from things that didn’t go the way we wanted them to. By not taking an intentional approach to learning from failure, we not only lose out on the opportunity to learn, but we also make it more likely that the root causes of failure go unremediated and drive future failures.

During our conversation we’ll explore how attitudes toward failure relate to attitudes toward risk, how to recognize those attitudes toward risk in your own teams and organizations, and tactical things that you can start doing today to help yourself and your team build a more productive relationship with the stuff that didn’t go so hot.
